Mammograms

A mammogram is an x-ray picture of the breast. Screening mammograms are used to check for breast cancer in women who have no signs or symptoms of the disease. Diagnostic mammograms are used to check for breast cancer after a lump or other sign or symptom of the disease have been found.

Why?

- The Cancer Association of South Africa(CANSA) recommends all women should have a mammogram done annually from the age of 40. Self-examinations are necessary monthly.
- We are here to help you.

Time your study for just after your menstruation, when the breast
is less sensitive. Do not apply powder or roll-on under armpits.
